WORSHIP

We love children in church, and all children are welcome to stay with parents in the Sanctuary during worship. However, parents are also can take their children either to the comfy chairs in the back of the sanctuary to soothe their little ones, or into the Narthex where they can still hear and see the service. Worship bags are also available for children of any age, please ask an usher to receive one prior to the service. Older children and youth have the opportunity to serve as acolytes, helping out with the service in a variety of ways. Finally, the preacher will occasionally do a “Children’s Sermon” where kids are invited forward!

FORMATION

During the 10 AM Sunday Service, children from preschool through 3rd grade may attend Godly Play, a Montessori-based curriculum that uses hands-on storytelling and wondering to introduce children to the Bible stories and church traditions. Children who attend Godly Play rejoin their parents in the Sanctuary during the Peace prior to Eucharist, about 45 minutes into the service. (See the facilities map for more details).

Separate classes are offered for youth in preparation for Confirmation as well as a Eucharist class for children in 3rd and 4th grade.  An annual Vacation Bible School is also conducted for one week in July.
